| January 2009 In September 2008 a team of Partners and staff from Facilitators put on their walking boots and took part in JDRF's Scottish Walk to Cure Diabetes. JDRF is the only organisation dedicated to finding a cure for junior diabetes - the incidence of which is increasing each year. Young children with the condition are subjected to daily injections as well as rigorous testing to check their blood sugar levels which of course impact on their quality of life. Families of children with diabetes desperately hold out for a cure so that their children can live a normal life and we aim to help speed this process by raising money to fund research. The team featured in the photo completed the 5mile sponsored walk around Hazlehead Park and raised a very respectable £1000 which will go towards funding research for this worthy cause. More information about the charity can be found at www.jdrf.org Please see our News & Events section for further news items. | |
