Manager for Hire

Customer

A large charity with 800+staff and 600+ volunteers who wanted to deploy an intranet, to improve internal communications.

The Task

Facilitators were initially asked to run some scoping workshops, to help the team decide what the intranet should do.

Our Approach

We developed a plan for the content of the intranet and conducted a risk workshop, which identified the lack of IT skills a key risk. A developer was chosen with our help and we attended the first few meetings, to kick the project off.

During the course of the project, we mentored the project manager and helped her run a series of focus groups on the content and look of the intranet, whilst advising on how to train the staff and volunteers in basic IT skills.

The Result

The project manager became confident enough to complete the project herself. She did this successfully, coinciding the launch with that of the charity's new visual identity.

Our service was delivered flexibly, with help being provided the right time, only when required.
